The Daily Tar Heel

In conjunction with Press Coverage’s roundtable discussion with former North Carolina men’s basketball All-American Eric Montross, part two of this special-edition episode shifts from the present to the past, as Montross dissects one of the most bizzare sequences in NCAA tournament history and gives his point of view from this iconic moment.

Montross also sheds light on some of his experience playing for legendary head coach Dean Smith.

“Every game I would walk into the locker room and had no idea how many points I had scored or how many rebounds I had scored,” he said. “I just knew we won or lost. It’s just indicative of how Coach Smith coached.”

Hosts Tommy Fradenburg and Keaton Eberly also ask Montross about the career that he almost had in the MLB, about his baseball prowess and why he’s a Cubs fan. Finally, a funny story about a Franklin Street barber shop, and what happened when they thought Montross was paying them a visit, but were wrong.
