Tree falls on Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., killing one

Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. is one of the designated Opportunity Zones in Orange County, along with South Estes Drive, that was approved by the Town of Chapel Hill on Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2019.

One person was killed on the 1200 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. after a tree fell on a mobile home Sunday afternoon. 

According to a press release from Chapel Hill Police Department, Grijalva Revolorio Abel,a 47-year-old Chapel Hill man, was pronounced dead at the scene after being found in the home upon which the tree fell.

The mobile home was a part of Tar Heel Mobile Court. Chapel Hill's Police and Fire Departments arrived at the scene around 5.p.m.
