Former Notre Dame guard Cormac Ryan has committed to the North Carolina men's basketball team, Ryan told Stadium on Thursday evening.

Ryan started 87 games over four seasons at Stanford and Notre Dame, including 32 last season with the Fighting Irish, when he averaged 12.3 points per game.

North Carolina finished last season ranked 318th in the nation in 3-point percentage, but the Tar Heels have made a conscious effort to retool the team with quality shooters on the perimeter. Ryan, who will come to Chapel Hill boasting a career 35-percent clip from deep, joins a roster that recently added respectable marksmen Paxson Wojcik and Jae'Lyn Withers via the transfer portal.
