Pedestrian dead after vehicular collision on MLK Jr. Boulevard, investigation underway

The Chapel Hill Police Department responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard near Perkins Drive on Wednesday night at 9:40 p.m. The pedestrian — identified as John Arthur Holman, 77, of Chapel Hill — died at the scene and the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene.

Northbound Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard is now closed between Weaver Dairy Road and Perkins Drive.

This investigation is ongoing, according to the Town.
