The boys from Passion Pit talk up their tour; tickets go on sale Thursday at noon

In case you didn’t know — and Canvas has no idea how you couldn’t — up and coming indie-rock band Passion Pit is headlining UNC’s October homecoming concert.

Tickets go on sale at noon today at the Union Box Office for the show, which will be going down Oct. 29 in the recently renovated Carmichael Auditorium. There’s a two-tiered ticketing system, with premium floor seats for $15 and riser seats for $10.

(Canvas hopes you didn’t try and camp out for these seats, because Union policy doesn’t allow for it.)

We here at Canvas will be getting our seats later today, but while we’re waiting, we’d thought we’d share some quotes with you from the guys from Passion Pit.

We can’t be too specific — their agent just sent us some block quotes and told us to attribute them to the band as a group — so take the following to be the collective thoughts of the five fine members of the band.

“Protecting the environment has always been important to us, so we’re excited to be headlining this fall’s Campus Consciousness Tour to make our concerts more earth-friendly while rallying students around this important issue.”

“We’re psyched to work with Reverb on the tour greening. We’re all environmentally aware guys and it just makes sense to minimize the environmental impact of our shows.”

“We signed onto the Tour because we loved the idea of bringing more than just a concert onto these campuses. Reverb has figured out how to combine a cause campaign with a rock tour in a way that only enhances the concert experience.”

Canvas isn’t sure how authentic these quotes are — we don’t tend to talk in pithy, group-type statements — but it’s nice to know that Passion Pit likes the environment and is excited about performing here.

Good luck getting tickets!
