Summer fashion 101

It's summer time and the living is easy, am I right?

Summer living is often times so easy, stress-free students forget that there are other clothing options outside of their Nike shorts and bathing suits.

Dressing for summer weather and summer time activities is fun and super versatile.

There are multiple tips and tricks to beat the heat and make the most of your summer wardrobe to fully embody the carefree, flirtatious summer vibes.

Denim Shorts

A classic summer go-to will forever and always be denim shorts. They're simple, cute and replace jeans for all your summer denim needs.

My personal favorite variation of any outfit with denim shorts are a classic pair of simple rolled up shorts. They add a vintage element to your outfit and they rarely make you feel like your exposing anything and everything while trying to stay cool in the mid-summer heat.

High-waisted or low rise, cuffed denim shorts can be paired with structured summer tanks for a more sophisticated look. They can also compliment your favorite bohemian printed top for a laid back feel.

Cut-off denim shorts are another summer wardrobe staple and are always something fun to play with during the summer season.

High-waisted shorts are the perfect vintage addition for a night out with friends and can always be dressed down when paired with a simple, casual top.

Put them with your favorite tennis shoes and you're ready to take on whatever summer adventure in front of you, or pair them with the best gladiator sandals you can find to dress them up a little bit.

Linen Pants

Linen pants have become a summer must-have for me.

They are lose, comfortable and can be paired with almost any top. They give a care-free, laid-back vibe that's perfect for any vacation or summer outing to your favorite restaurant.

Pair them with wedges and you're ready to hit the town. Throw on your favorite flat sandals with them and it's a perfect outfit to lounge around or run some errands in.

Bralette

Something that has recently become a staple for women's wardrobe is the bralette. They're fun, flirty and give any outfit a little extra flare.

They're great in the winter, but they can be worn so much better in the summer. They add a flirtatious element to simple tanks by peeking through otherwise revealing shirts to add the right element of fun to an outfit.

Floppy Hat

Whether you're vacationing in the Cayman Islands or Wilmington, everyone is in need of the perfect floppy hat this summer. It's fun. It's simple. It's timeless and very flattering.

Floppy hats hide beach hair, and they add the perfect amount of class to a summer dress or a casual dinner outfit.

A simple tan, straw hat will do the trick. To add a little more fun to the accessory, you can always try a colored or patterned floppy hat for the perfect summer look.
