DTH at a Glance: Campaigns and chemistry

Good morning, UNC! Here's some need-to-know news for your Thursday:

QUICK HITS

  • Here's what it costs to campaign in Chapel Hill.
  • “I think they need more resources from the University overall." The Accessibility Resources and Services Office serve 1,300 students with five full-time staff members. This has caused issues for the people who depend on its services.
  • The NAACP and the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom held peace rallies around campus on the day Richard Spencer was due to speak at the University.

STAY COOL IN SCHOOL

  • Struggling in chemistry? Don't worry, you're not alone. Many students claim that not enough resources are given in chemistry classes for them to fully understand the curriculum.
  • The North Carolina General Assembly introduced a new, simplified pay plan this year for the state's school principals. But not everyone is a fan.
  • Annetta Streater has resigned from Chapel Hill-Carrboro City School Board, leaving behind a strong foundation, more progress to be made and an empty seat.

SPORTS!

  • UNC's Darkside, a men's ultimate frisbee team on campus, is training in hopes of winning a National Championship.
  • The men's soccer team beat George Washington on Tuesday, extending their winning streak to five games.
  • Field hockey player Ashley Hoffman is preparing to lead her team against Syracuse on Saturday.
