UNIVERSITY DAY

Go shawty, it's your birthday, you better party like it's your birthday. UNC turned 224 yesterday — here's what happened:

  • Gov. Roy Cooper delivered an optimistic speech at the University Day keynote address, reminding everyone that while it is easy to get discouraged in the current political climate, it is still important to remain hopeful about the importance of public education.
  • A silent protest against Silent Sam took place at the annual University Day performance at Memorial Hall. Over 30 students participated in the demonstration.
