DTH at a Glance: Throw an axe, beat Duke and walk out

If the title of this newsletter sounds like a perfect weekend to y’all, you’re definitely going to want to tune into today’s glance. And, as always, GO TO HELL DUKE!

QUICK HITS

  • With his first and final career start behind him, UNC men's basketball player Aaron Rohlman is reflecting on the loss of his father, his tempestuous journey to UNC basketball and his future at medical school.
  • “We’re protected by the Constitution — we have the right to assemble.” UNC Admissions has released a statement supporting applicants in their decision to participate in walk-outs protesting gun violence.
  • More than just claiming the sky as “Carolina Blue” is at stake for this Saturday’s showdown against Duke: the title of conference No. 2 seed rests on turnovers, second-chance points and Maye, Berry and Johnson.

STUFF TO DO THIS WEEKEND

CAMPUS AND CITY

  • Juul-ing may not necessarily be a “healthier” substitute to smoking actual cigarettes. E-cigarettes containing nicotine are be dangerous to adolescents and younger-students and can lead to increased tobacco usage in the future.
  • Get a full body workout, grab a smoothie with some oatmeal on top and throw an axe or two with some local brews: check out these new businesses in the Chapel Hill-Durham area and treat yourself!
  • In the words of Jerry Seinfeld’s “Bee Movie:” “We're the only ones who make honey, pollinate flowers and dress like this!” Hillsborough community members continue to beautify the pollinator environment with new gardens, habitats and projects for bees.
