Victory Bell up for grabs

North Carolina and Duke meet at Kenan Stadium on Saturday for a chance to take control of the ACC Coastal Division and claim the beloved Victory Bell. For the 67th year the Victory Bell will sit on the sidelines and await a fresh coat of paint. The rivalry has seen its fair share of incredible moments, winning streaks and controversy.

Usually the Tar Heel faithful are devoting their full attention to the beginning of basketball season by this point of the year, but this year's UNC football team has fans thinking otherwise.

'It was a Perfect Match'

Redshirt junior Rachel Black is more than meets the eye. The field hockey player will be foregoing her final year of eligibility and heading to pharmacy school.

UNC Field Hockey Gamer

In the first game of the Tar Heels' quest to win the ACC tournament, the senior class stepped up and scored both goals, in a 2-1 victory over Louisville.

Looking ahead

  • The North Carolina men's basketball team will open its season Friday night with an exhibition against Guilford at 7:30 p.m. in Chapel Hill.
  • The North Carolina women's soccer team will play Florida State in Cary, NC, Friday at 8 p.m. in their first game of the ACC tournament. 
  • The North Carolina volleyball team travels up north to visit Syracuse Friday evening at 7 p.m. The team will then square off with Boston College on Sunday afternoon at noon.
  • The North Carolina field hockey team will continue their ACC tournament Friday evening with a matchup against the Boston College Eagles at 3:30 p.m. in Charlottesville, Virginia. 
  • The North Carolina football team will take the field against Duke on Saturday at noon, in one of the most highly anticipated games of the season.
  • The North Carolina men's soccer team will start their run at an ACC tournament title on Sunday afternoon when the whistle blows in their game against Syracuse at 1 p.m.
