'We're not done'

Midway through the second half of North Carolina's game against Providence on Saturday, Brice Johnson and Marcus Paige knew it was their time to take over. So they did.

The seniors scored 16 straight points for the Tar Heels, helping UNC defeat the Friars 85-66 to earn its second straight Sweet 16 appearance.

Justin Jackson steps up to tough defensive assignment

After inconsistent defensive effort throughout the season, North Carolina has picked up the intensity on that end of the floor during the postseason. Justin Jackson became a part of that renewal on Saturday against Providence, stepping up to the task of guarding Providence star Kris Dunn.

Ward the lone bright spot for UNC wrestling

Despite sending seven wrestlers to the NCAA Tournament, the North Carolina wrestling team finished with only one All-American. Redshirt junior Joey Ward went 4-2 over the weekend to finish in seventh place for the Tar Heels.

Tyler Ramirez disregards pressure, UNC sweeps Duke

Heading into the 2016 season, Tyler Ramirez, a junior outfielder for the North Carolina baseball team, knew he was going to have to be "the guy" at the plate. 

After struggling in his first two games of the season, Ramirez has refocused and decided not to do too much in the batters' box. In the process, he has led UNC to a 17-2 record, the last three wins coming in the team's series sweep against Duke this past weekend.

Looking Ahead

  • The North Carolina women's golf team will compete in the LSU Tiger Golf Classic in Baton Rouge, La. all day Monday and Tuesday.
  • The North Carolina baseball team hosts Western Carolina at 6 p.m. on Tuesday.
  • The North Carolina men's swimming and diving team will compete in the NCAA Men's Swimming Championships in Atlanta from Wednesday to Saturday.
  • The North Carolina fencing team will compete in the NCAA Championships in Waltham, Mass. all day from Thursday to Sunday.
  • The North Carolina women's tennis team travels to Syracuse, where it will take on the Orange at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday.
  • The North Carolina baseball team will host Georgia Tech for a three-game series from Thursday to Saturday.
