'Everything Clicked'

It took four years, but seniors Brice Johnson and Marcus Paige were finally able to get their North Carolina team over the hump Sunday. In their Elite Eight matchup with Notre Dame, the Tar Heels dominated late in the second half, which allowed the celebration to start early. The Tar Heels are headed to Houston.

Mean Muggin'

Midway through the second half of North Carolina men's basketball Elite Eight matchup with Notre Dame, Brice Johnson was called for a technical foul. The outburst leading to the foul changed the complexion of the game and allowed Notre Dame to come back and take the lead. Once he came back in the game minutes later, though, and emotionless Brice Johnson took over for the Tar Heels and led them to victory.

One Last Ride...

Andrew Gores didn't think he would be playing tennis this season. When he came back to UNC this fall, he realized that he had one year of eligibility to play for UNC, so he decided to give it a go. Now Gores is a prime time player for the No.1 ranked Tar Heel team.

Missing a spark

In the competitive ACC, North Carolina's mens baseball team knew they wouldn't be able to win every conference series. That thought became a reality this weekend, when UNC dropped their weekend series to the No.25 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. The Tar Heels played from behind for most of the weekend and never were able to gain momentum.

Slide & Shine

J.B. Bukauskas was the bright spot in a weekend where North Carolina baseball was looking for positives. The pitcher known for his fastball surprised everyone, including the opposing hitters, when he debuted his new slider pitch on Friday.

  • The North Carolina softball team plays USC Upstate at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday in Chapel Hill.
  • The North Carolina baseball team plays Davidson at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Boshamer Stadium.
  • The North Carolina women's lacrosse team plays Virginia Tech at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday in Chapel Hill.
  • The North Carolina softball team faces UNC-Greensboro at 6:00 p.m on Wednesday in Chapel Hill.
