Moving beyond simplicity

After a successful 11-win campaign, the North Carolina football team has raised the bar, specifically on the defensive side of the ball. And in the second year under defensive coordinator Gene Chizik, UNC's defense faces greater expectations.

With the college basketball season in the books, here's a look at some of the most updated projections for North Carolina's Brice Johnson and Marcus Paige in the 2016 NBA Draft.

Looking ahead

  • The North Carolina women's tennis team plays at Virginia Tech at 2:30 p.m. on Friday before hosting Boston College at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
  • The North Carolina men's tennis team visits Notre Dame at 3:30 p.m. on Friday before traveling to Boston College for a match at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
  • The North Carolina baseball team hosts a three-game series against Virginia Tech this weekend, starting with Friday's 7 p.m. tilt against the Hokies. Game 2 is at 6 p.m. on Saturday, and Game 3 is at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
  • The North Carolina rowing team competes in the Knecht Cup in West Windsor Township, N.J., on Saturday and Sunday.
  • The North Carolina men's golf team competes in The Cabarrus County Irish Creek Collegiate on Saturday and Sunday in Kannapolis.
  • The North Carolina volleyball team competes in the RVC Spring Tournament starting at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday in Richmond, Va.
  • The North Carolina women's lacrosse team hosts Louisville at noon on Saturday.
  • The North Carolina softball team visits Boston College for a three-game series this weekend, starting with a doubleheader on Saturday. Game 1 of the series is at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Game 2 is at 3 p.m. on Saturday and Game 3 is at noon on Sunday.
  •  The North Carolina men's lacrosse team hosts Virginia at 2 p.m. on Sunday at Kenan Stadium.
