The Wear twins, David and Travis, will transfer from North Carolina, according to a report in the Long Beach Press Telegram.
The pair were McDonald's All-Americans in high school and were two of the most sought after recruits in college basketball. Each averaged more than 10 minutes per game during their freshman years at UNC.
Travis played in 32 games, averaging 3.5 points and 2.2 rebounds per game, while David played in 27 games, averaging 2.9 points and 1.7 rebounds.
According to the report, the twins' father, Dave Wear, called UNC coach Roy Williams last night to inform Williams of the twins' plans. Wear hoped the twins could be released from their scholarship agreement "as early as Thursday."
Dave Wear wouldn't elaborate on why the twins were making the move, other than to say "they decided they didn't want to return to North Carolina."
Before heading east to Chapel Hill, the pair had considered UCLA and Arizona for college.
