RALEIGH — At halftime of the matchup between No. 8 North Carolina and N.C. State, the Tar Heels lead the Wolfpack 46-41.
UNC got off to a fast start, taking a 10-2 lead less than three minutes into the contest.
A Reggie Bullock 3-pointer with 14:29 to go in the half gave UNC a 19-5 advantage — its largest lead of the half.
But a pair of N.C. State runs brought the Wolfpack back in the game.
Moments after Bullock’s deep basket, N.C. State scored the next eight points with the help of Wolfpack point guard Lorenzo Brown.
After a pair of Tar Heel 3-pointers, N.C. State climbed back up again, this time with an 11-0 run.
UNC shot well from long range in the first half, sinking seven of 14 3-pointers before break.
At halftime, Kendall Marshall leads UNC in scoring with 13 points, while C.J. Leslie leads the Wolfpack with 14.
