No. 3 North Carolina has already clinched the second seed in the ACC Tournament, but it leads 1-0 at halftime against Boston College on Senior Night.
Junior forward Andy Craven had a chance to open the scoring in the seventh minute, but his low shot was parried wide by Eagles goalkeeper Justin Luthy.
However, Craven capitalized in the 20th minute when a pass from Mikey Lopez set up a curled shot from the left side of the box that sneaked in off the far post.
Craven almost doubled his tally three minutes later when he leapt to connect with a cross from Jordan Gafa, but his acrobatic shot sailed just over the bar. Craven again missed in the 28th minute when he shot wide from the right side of the box.
UNC’s five seniors Scott Goodwin, Martin Murphy, Jordan Gafa, Cameron Brown and Daniel Tannous were recognized in a ceremony before the game. Goodwin and Gafa started, while Murphy and Brown came on as substitutes in the 31st minute.
