With a 3-pointer at the buzzer, Reggie Bullock gave North Carolina a 47-27 lead against Wake Forest to take into the Smith Center locker room Tuesday night.
Bullock, shooting 4-for-6 and 2-for-3 from long range, leads the Tar Heels with 12 points in the opening half. James Michael McAdoo, who came out of the game early in the first half after a rough start, improved as the half wore on, finishing 3-for-7 from the field.
Wake Forest, which was led by Arnaud Adala Moto’s eight first-half points, had 13 turnovers and just nine field goals in the opening period.
With just about three minutes left on the clock, P.J. Hairston sunk a 3-pointer to give UNC a 13-point lead, his first made basket since he sat out after sustaining a concussion in a win against Boston College last Tuesday.
Ten different Tar Heels scored at least two points in the opening half, and North Carolina is shooting 62 percent from the field, compared to Wake Forest’s 40 percent.
