UNC women's soccer leads Indiana 1-0 at half

North Carolina heads into halftime with a 1-0 lead against Indiana in the second round of the NCAA tournament at Fetzer Field.

The return of senior leading scorer Crystal Dunn was the headline of the first half. Dunn didn’t start the game, but she made her presence felt just more than three minutes into her return.

In the 38th minute, Dunn sprinted into the box on a counter attack and received a cross from freshman Cameron Castleberry and blasted a shot past the keeper fro UNC’s lone goal of the first half.

UNC outshot the Hoosiers by 11, holding Indiana to only one first half shot. UNC senior goalkeeper hasn’t been tested early, and hasn’t had to make a save thus far.

The Tar Heels are showcasing their depth early, playing seven reserve players in the first half, something that will likely continue into the second half of play. Indiana didn’t earn a corner kick in the first half, and UNC earned all three corner kicks of the half.
