Jamie Loeb wins NCAA Singles Championship

North Carolina women's tennis sophomore No. 7 Jamie Loeb won the NCAA Women's Singles Championship Monday, defeating Stanford's No. 2 Carol Zhao in three sets, 6-2, 4-6, 6-1.

Loeb, who finished the 2014-15 season with a 31-5 singles record, is the first in UNC women's tennis history to win the singles national title.

Loeb opened her sophomore campaign in the fall of 2014 by winning the inaugural American Collegiate Invitational in Flushing Meadows, N.Y. and after her victory Monday, now holds an 84-9 career singles record at UNC.
