Double-check your polling location

We’re hearing a lot of reports from folks who are heading out to vote at the wrong polling locations. If you haven’t voted yet and still plan to, take note:

  • Morehead Planetarium is NOT open for voting today. The site was open for early voting, but today you must vote at your actual polling location.
  • Some students seem to think anyone can vote at the Center for Dramatic Art because it is on campus, but again, you cannot vote there today unless that is your polling location.
  • Most students who live on campus and are registered in Orange County vote at the UNC General Administration building on Raleigh Road. You can check your voter registration at the State Board of Elections website.
  • The Orange County Board of Elections website has a list of all of the county’s polling sites.

The Carrboro Town Hall, another early voting site, was seeing a fair number of folks showing up at the wrong precinct shortly after noon today.

“They get confused,” said Kathy Hackney, an election official in Carrboro. “They think, I voted here last time, but that was just early voting.”
