Fresh(man) Eyes: Trying New Things

A few weeks ago, I tried double-chocolate-chip mint cookies.

They were amazing.

Before that wondrous afternoon, I had never had double-chocolate-chip mint cookies.

I'm sure that plenty of you out there have eaten double-chocolate-chip mint cookies. Maybe you have been doing so for years.

I'm sure that you are scratching your heads and wondering why I have never given double-chocolate-chip mint cookies a try.

Well, there are a few reasons.  I did not really hang out with a crowd in high school that ate a lot of double-chocolate-chip mint cookies.  A lot of people told me that double-chocolate-chip mint cookies taste awful. I never knew where to find double-chocolate-chip mint cookies.

Whatever the reason, I am beyond happy that I was able to go out on a limb and try double-chocolate-chip mint cookies.  It was a good experience and I'm a little sad that I waited so long to do so.

As a freshman, I have noticed that college life is all about trying new things. New foods, new study habits and new people surround me and fill my life with a diversity that has been heretofore unknown to me.

Listen to these other UNC students as they discuss the new things they tried during their freshman years.
