What are you doing for Spring Break?

The sun is out for the first time in about a week and people are getting excited for spring break. I went out and asked people about their plans and heard about roadtrips, beach vacations and relaxing at home.

Sarah Hogshire, a junior psychology major, is going to Hawaii with a a friend for the week.

Brittney Jenkins, a senior English and Art major, is taking a roadtrip. She will leave today for Jacksonville, Fla., then head to Tampa, Fla., then back up to Brevard, N.C. From there, she is going to Cincinatti, Ohio, then back to North Carolina.

Anna Eusebio, a sophomore Environment and Ecology major, is taking a train to Disney World. She will travel with a friend. Then she is taking a train to Charleston, S.C. to visit with her parents.

Other students are going home for this Spring Break. Joe Hage, a freshman International Studies major and Romance Languages minor is going home to work as a waiter.

Freshman Julia Ramos is heading home to take care of her sister, pregnant with her third child. Julia will also be babysitting during break.

Junior Emma Pham is going home to get her wisdom teeth out.

Juniors Carrie Moss and Holly Zoeller, and freshman Pyce Madden, members of the rugby team, have a tournament at the University of Virginia this weekend, then they are heading home.

Jane Miraglia, a sophomore majoring in Exercise & Sport Science, is going home for the weekend to celebrate four birthdays in her family. Then she is going to Meredith College for an athletic training program.

Senior Jonathan Hecht is going to Asheville for spring break. Hecht said, "I am so ready to get out."

While some students are staying in North Carolina for break, some are going as far as Mexico. Zach Wolf is going to Acapulco, Mexico with some friends.

Senior Bryan Kozik, a peace war & defense major, is visiting graduate school programs at Clemson University and the University of Alabama.

To the people going to exotic places over Spring Break, have fun. And to those, like me, who are heading home, have a relaxing and safe spring break!
