Recipe of the week: Valentine's Day Buttons

Buy Photos

Happy Valentine’s Day to everyone! Hopefully your day has been filled with flowers, chocolate, cupcakes and candy. To all the Valentine’s Day haters, this post is not for you. Some of us like cutesy holidays.

I found the idea for this week’s special edition recipe buttons on Pinterest. As with most recipes I had to adjust it a little bit to make it “dorm room ready.”

Here is the original recipe, which calls for pretzels, regular m&ms, and pink and white melting disks that you can buy at a craft store.

Since most college students don’t have easy access to a craft store, I subsitituted the melting disks for hershey’s kisses and regular m&ms for valentine’s day peanut m&ms.

Here is what you will need:

Square pretzels
m&ms
Hershey’s kisses (or hugs)

cookie sheet
oven, preheated to 350 degrees
oven mitt
plate

First, get a cookie sheet. Arrange the pretzels on the sheet. Unwrap the Hershey Kisses and put one kiss on every pretzel.

Put the buttons into the preheated oven for 4-7 minutes depending on the oven. They should melt a little bit. Take them out of the oven and put an m&m on top.

Now that you made all these buttons you can give them out to all your valentines!
