Finals week events and study breaks

We compiled optimal study break opportunities for your finals week.

THURSDAY: MUSIC AT LOCAL 506

Can’t listen to music and study simultaneously? Good news. You don’t have to! That’s what breaks are for. Local 506 is kicking off the start of exams by hosting several different music acts.

Time: 9:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

Location: 506 West Franklin Street

Tickets: $6 in advance, $8 at the door

FRIDAY: JINGLE BELL JOG

The Student Recreational Center is allowing students to participate in a 2.7 mile jog, or a 1.5 mile run, during exams to promote student health and well being. So if exercise is your thing, then this event would be a perfect way for you to take a break and enjoy yourself.

Time: 12:15 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Location: Student Recreation Center (SRC)

SATURDAY: DOWNTOWN CHAPEL HILL & CARRBORO WALKING FOOD TOUR

Does studying for long hours ever include a lunch break? No worries. The city of Chapel Hill is hosting a food tour where students, family and the Chapel Hill/Carrboro community are able to walk down the streets of Franklin and Carrboro tasting a variety of food samples from different establishments in the area.

Time: 2:15 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Location: 311 West Franklin Street

SUNDAY: CAROLINA PERFORMING ARTS: THE NUTCRACKER — CAROLINA BALLET

Everyone loves the Nutcracker. A live orchestra, dancers and performers come together to put on a show that you won’t want to miss, because you're studying for your 5th hour straight.

Time: 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Location: Memorial Hall
