Anywhere you look it seems the news is dauntingly negative, that the only thing to report on are the tragedies and crimes throughout the world.
There are many great things in America, but dorm life isn't one.
Memorial Hall is a magical place. If you are a student at UNC who hasn’t been to a show there yet, I highly recommend that you go to one. Not only have the walls of Memorial Hall seen art of the highest caliber, (including dance, operas, symphonies, and theater) but also the stage there has an ELEVATOR built into it. An elevator!
Ever since I made history as the first Slytherin-Hufflepuff hybrid (my double major in journalism and global studies confused UNC’s Sorting Hat, thanks Dottie Blyth), I’ve been gradually mistaking the campus as the grounds of Hogwarts, and the surrounding Chapel Hill-Carrboro area as Hogsmeade.
At first-year orientation a couple months ago, I was almost drowned in the plethora of ways to get involved around campus. The only thing that remained in my exhausted, foggy brain at the end of the two-day deluge was the presentation from Campus Rec about intramural sports, especially their explanation of the legendary champion shirts.
College is hard. I get that. For me belting a good Broadway show tune in the shower after a long day is therapeutic... not so much for my suitemates who have to listen to it.
To my lovely suitemates:
Little disclaimer for you, dear reader: I am definitely not an expert on the excitingly mysterious yet ever wonderful matter that is ~MEN~.
Chapel Hill in winter is not a pleasant place to be, especially when it’s snowing.
He’s Not Here, but last night Ed Sheeran was. That is neither the first nor the last time I will make that statement.
Thesaurus search the 9 floors of Davis Library and you will find that they are almost exactly synonymous to Dante’s 9 circles of hell.
It’s no well kept secret that Joe Jonas will be performing with his new band DNCE tonight at Local 506 in Chapel Hill. Tickets for the sold out show were only $15 a pop and were quick to sell. Unfortunately, my fellow Tar Heels were quicker than me and I was unable to get a ticket.
Imagine having the power to create anything you desire. The world is yours, as long as that world is within a 12 x 12 x 12 in. dimension and isn’t technically a weapon.
It’s that time of year again!!
