Ten new emoji characters that will change your life

Exactly one week ago, Apple released its latest software update which included 150 new emoji characters and the internet freaked out.

While iOS 9 did not drastically change the layout's interface and Siri still continues to tell me “watch your language, Dottie,” the addition of the new emojis has already made iOS 9 one of Apple’s best updates of all time.

Without further ado, here are some of my personal favorites:

1. A bento box

This one looks like Red Bowl’s bento box and I am 100% okay with that. 10/10 would recommend.

2. A crab

Well, this is one way to break the news to your significant other.

3. Hook ‘em horns

As long as N.C. State doesn’t get a Wolfpack emoji, I’m all for this one.

4. A hot dog

This might very well be the emoji that’ll bring the end to the eggplant era. Will also be used by people who just really like hot dogs, despite the World Health Organization’s recent statement that they are bad for your health — I mean, we already knew that though, right?

5. Creepy hugging smiley

Rated #1 most used and adored emoji by parents worldwide.

6. Fried shrimp

Another necessary emoji.

7. Rolling eyes smiley

It will never replaced the original sass lady, but it’s a great alternative.

8. The middle finger

Answering pleas since 2013, Apple finally gave in and we are very blessed.

9. A unicorn

Last year I watched an entire documentary about mermaids. Still waiting on that unicorn documentary, @AnimalPlanet.

10. A block of cheese

These are what dreams are made of.
