Allan Maule (left) and Thom Gradisher (right) act in "Wisdom" written by Clyde Edgerton and directed by Akiva Fox. The play was inspired by Jules Dalou's 1889 sculpture, "Wisdom Supporting Liberty." The Ackland Art Museum hosts "Activated Art" live theater performances held in the museum's own galleries. The one-act plays of "ekphrastic theater"- theater performance inspired and based on specific works of art- were presented with a grant from the UNC Institute for the Arts and Humanities.
