Cornell's head coach, Rob Koll is a '88 former Tar Heel wrestler. He was recognized at the match and gifted a framed Carolina singlet. His success at Carolina accredited Koll as a four-time All American, three-time ACC champion and 1988 NCAA champion at 158 pounds. Koll's collegiate-level training led him to taking Cornell to six top-five finishes in the NCAA, and defeating his alma mater Saturday night. Tensions were high throughout the night, with yelling and complaints from coaches on both teams directed towards the referees.
