The North Carolina baseball team (9-4, 5-3 ACC) took on Clemson (5-7, 1-4) for day two of a three-game series at Boshamer Stadium. After pulling out a win on Friday, the Tar Heels took a 2-0 series lead on Saturday, beating the Tigers, 5-4. Three home runs in the fourth inning led the way for the Tar Heels in their victory.

While some of the UNC track and field team traveled to compete in the JDL DMR Invitational in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, the others headed to Blacksburg, Virginia, to compete in the Virginia Tech Challenge on Friday and Saturday. Two athletes finished their events with season bests, while another finished second overall in their event.

With an up-and-down season, the North Carolina women’s basketball team is slowly nearing the end of another year. With challenges due to COVID-19, heavy roster turnover and trouble finishing games, the Tar Heels have had their fair share of obstacles.

The North Carolina women’s basketball team (8-7, 3-7 ACC) took on the Virginia Tech Hokies (9-7, 4-7 ACC) away on Sunday at 4 p.m. The two teams battled it out for majority of the game, but ultimately the Hokies came away victorious, hitting 14 fourth-quarter free throws — two in the final seconds — to ice the game and claim a 73-69 win.

In a Halloween night match against Virginia, the North Carolina volleyball (5-2, 5-2 ACC) team came out swinging against the Cavaliers (1-7, 0-7 ACC) behind strong play from its young players, winning the match 3-1.

After opening its season with a win, the North Carolina field hockey team fell short to Louisville, 3-1, on Friday night. The Tar Heels had not lost a game since Oct. 20, 2017. Friday’s loss ended the 47-game winning streak for UNC, previously the longest win streak streak in Division 1 athletics and the second longest in Division 1 field hockey history.
