Senior Josh Stewart, a Communication Studies Major from Greensboro, poses at his home in Chapel Hill. Stewart will travel to France for two weeks in May to intern with at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival, a great opportunity for Stewart, who hopes to find work in the film industry after he graduates. "The most exciting thing [about going to Cannes] is the exposure to industry professionals," Stewart said. "It's a great opportunity to get noticed and get your name out there." After Cannes, Stewart will travel to Los Angeles to intern for April Webster Casting as part of the Hollywood Media Internship offered through the Communications Studies Department.

Yves Jacques performs The Andersen Project in Memorial Hall. Written and directed by Robert Lepage, the play is inspired by two stories by Danish author Hans Christian Andersen. Jacques will perform the one-man show, produced by Lepage's Quebec-based theater company Ex Machina, in Memorial Hall on Thursday and Friday.

Margaret Wharton, age 93, poses at her room at the Carolina Meadows retirement home. Wharton recently finished writing a memoir of her life. She grew up in England, and moved to the United States after marrying an American serviceman she met during World War II.
A small crowd gathered to watch the Georgetown v. NC State hockey game at the ACC Hockey Tournament at the Triangle Sportsplex in Hillsborough on Saturday. The tournament, which ran from Friday to Sunday, drew between 150 and 200 spectators on Friday night, according to Diane Thompson, mother of senior defensman John Thompson, who worked the door at many of the games this weekend. The tournament featured spirited competition from the athletes, regardless of the attendance. "They're playing for the name on the front of their jersey," said Thompson. "They're playing for pride."

Victoria Bouloubasis (Alum '04) raises her fist during the HK On J rally in Raleigh on Saturday. Bouloubasis is a member of NC Dream Team, a group that advocates for access to higher education for undocumented immigrants. The rally was in protest to a number of things, including HB-11, a bill in the State House of Representatives that would bar undocumented immigrants from attending state community colleges.
Gabe Barboza, 17, performs a front side boneless at the Chapel Hill Skate Park at Homestead Park. Barboza, a junior at Chapel Hill High School, has been skating at the park regularly since he moved to the area in 2007. Barboza said the park was a good place for practicing tricks and learning new ones from more experienced riders. "We've got a good posse here that we skate with," Barboza said. "The Chapel Hill crew holds it down."
