Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, I have seen my peers worry about lost time. In many ways, it feels like we have all lost a year from our lives — and if you are in your 20s like I am, it can feel like you have lost one of the "best years of your life."
The North Carolina Board of Governors governs the University of North Carolina System, which consists of 16 public universities and the N.C. School of Science and Mathematics. The BOG's members are elected by the Senate and House of Representatives of the North Carolina General Assembly. The BOG is responsible for managing the UNC System, as well as electing its president.
My first memory of being told that queer people go to hell was during a Catholic church service. The priest stood at his pulpit and encouraged parishioners to petition their representatives in government to oppose protections for queer people.
