Inaugural Coverage Accurately Depicted Students' Activity

TO THE EDITOR:Mr. Buchanan ("Inauguration Front Page Evidence of Liberal Bias, Disappointing to Reader" Jan. 25) should understand that The Daily Tar Heel is the UNC newspaper which reports on student activity. Since more than 60 students went to D.C. to protest the inauguration, the heavy coverage of those protests was not only appropriate, but accurate.Since Mr. Buchanan was not actually present, I have no idea how he knows or understands the conditions at the inaugural parade.

Crowded Buses Show Necessity to Expand Mass Transit Options\

TO THE EDITOR:Dave Snell's letter ("Fare-Free Busing Could Make Service Overcrowded, Late" Jan. 26) was a puzzle. As I understood it he was complaining that having fare-free buses would result in crowded, heavily used vehicles -- and that this would be a terrible thing. Until I read the letter, I had assumed that every student in City and Regional Planning (the department in which Mr.

Local Scouts Need to Take High Ground

The Boy Scouts present me with a paradox. On the one hand, I find their official stance against having gay troop leaders repulsive. But on the other I support their right, as a private organization, to discriminate in any way they want.Any attempt then to discriminate against the Boy Scouts (for example, not allowing them to use public facilities) could be construed as just as bad as the Boy Scouts discriminating against gay men. It could be made out to be censorship of politically incorrect ideas.

Sex Isn't Bad - Try It This Weekend

It has to be the tip of the breast -- the nipple. I saw it in a porn once," my friend told me."Oh, so it's not the whole breast that goes inside. I get it," I said as the light bulb went off inside my head.My friend, who we'll refer to as "Lola," was telling me about one of her sexual fantasies. At first, she was really shy about discussing such thoughts so explicitly. It took her a while to get the whole story out, mostly because she kept interrupting her own narrative flow with silly questions.

`Spice' Not Even a Guilty Pleasure

Zero Stars At least I didn't suffer a violent attack of diarrhea. That is, with all honesty, the ONLY positive thing I can possibly say about the two hours of life completely wasted watching "Sugar and Spice."Apparently there is some Hollywood producer out there throwing money at any trite, asinine hemorrhoid of a script containing a reference to teenagers in cheerleader outfits.
