Trying to imagine celebrating Thanksgiving without Thanksgiving dinner is hard, but this is often a reality for many people in need in Chapel Hill and Carrboro. Luckily, the Inter-Faith Council is there to help those who would have otherwise gone without.

Inter-Faith Council for Social Service awards staff at its annual meeting

George, a resident of the new SECU Community House, spoke at the annual Inter-Faith Council for Social Service (IFC) meeting and expressed his gratitude of the IFC. “(The staff) make me feel like I have a purpose now, it’s an amazing feeling,” George said. “There’s one thing those people over there have in common, they all have hearts. All you have to do is just walk in and open your eyes and you’ll see it.”

Two health centers to open in Chapel Hill

There are 10,000 individuals in Orange County with an unmet medical need that are not being serviced by a health care facility. One thousand of the these individuals seek medical service at the Carrboro Community Health Center, one of the eight primary and comprehensive health clinics of Piedmont Health Services Inc.
