UNC receivers fill void left by Mack Hollins' injury

On Monday, North Carolina announced wide receiver Mack Hollins had surgery on his right collarbone — ending his senior season and, ultimately, his Tar Heel career. It’s a massive loss for the offense. Hollins finishes his North Carolina career with 81 receptions for 1,667 yards and 20 touchdowns. But as much as the coaching staff and players will miss having Hollins, the job this week is to move forward.

Film review: Read option sparks UNC offense

Since Coach Larry Fedora arrived in 2012, the North Carolina football team has found its identity on the offensive side of the ball. After averaging a school-record 7.3 yards per play in 2015, the Tar Heels set their sights even higher this year with a number of productive players returning.

Film Review: UNC's run defense fails first test

Run defense has been a constant talking point for the North Carolina football team since the end of last season. The Tar Heels have been gashed on the ground for the past few years, but the final two games of the 2015 season were particularly awful. UNC allowed a total of 964 yards rushing against Clemson and Baylor, giving up an ugly 6.9 yards per carry in two losses.

Fedora "very comfortable" with hiring of friend Tim Beckman

For Larry Fedora, it was personal. The North Carolina football coach and former Illinois coach Tim Beckman were offensive and defensive coordinators, respectively, for Oklahoma State in 2007. Now, the two are reunited, as Beckman joins UNC as a volunteer assistant for the 2016 season.
