$1 million campaign for same-sex marriage launches

Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender rights groups launched a $1 million campaign Monday to foster a climate supportive of same-sex marriage rights in the South — nearly two years after N.C. voters approved a constitutional gay marriage ban.

ASU chancellor questions blood donor ban

At Appalachian State University’s blood drive this week, students collected more than 1,300 pints of blood — and 942 signatures on a petition to allow men who have sex with other men to be able to donate blood.
