Analysis: Three takeaways from UNC basketball's loss at Florida State

The North Carolina men’s basketball team fell to No. 8 Florida State on the road, 65-59, after a woeful stretch in the second half.  Despite solid defensive play, UNC (10-12, 3-8 ACC) struggled to shoot once again, which has become a common occurrence this season. The Tar Heels finished the game shooting nearly 31 percent from the field while holding the Seminoles (19-3, 9-2 ACC) to 41 percent shooting

As noted by Pat James of GoHeels.com, you’d have to go back nearly three decades —  when Duke hosted UNC on Saturday, January 19, 1991 — to find the last time the Tar Heels and Blue Devils played their first game on a day other than Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. In a perfect world, they’d go three more decades before they have to open on the weekend again.
