'He's a dog': Against N.C. State, Garrison Brooks made sure UNC wouldn't lose

Throughout the Tar Heels' worst season since 2001-02, Brooks has been the team's steadiest player, scoring key bucket after key bucket for a team that has desperately needed every single one. He has weathered the storm, and when North Carolina needed him in a game that everyone in Chapel Hill cares far more than they will admit, he delivered.

To combat food insecurity, Orange County's food council aims to change policy

The 15-member council has seats for each elected body, including representatives from the Orange County Board of County Commissioners, Hillsborough Board of Commissioners, Carrboro Town Council and Chapel Hill Town Council. A fifth designated seat goes to a representative from the Orange County Agricultural Preservation Board, whose role is to represent agriculture and farming.

From double-booked venues to steep costs: The struggle to find on-campus venues

For student groups looking to perform on campus, it can be difficult for them to actively express their creativity due to a lack of available performance spaces across campus and the trivialities associated with securing a performance venue.  Student performance groups can book venues through Carolina Performing Arts or Reserve Carolina, the Carolina Union’s online reservation system.  “Reserve Carolina all semester has not functioned properly," said Bridget MacPherson, a member of Chapel Hill Players comedy group. "We can't see our own reservations once we have made them. We have to go to them and ask for a pdf print out, which is not the way that it should be functioning.”
