Folk, country, garage rock combine in show

Banjos, mandolins and acoustic guitars will collaborate tonight at Local 506. Goodnight, Texas will perform with special guests The Bones of J.R. Jones and Less Is More, combining traditional folk with bluegrass, garage rock and a sprinkling of operatic vibrato.

Q&A with punk rock 'n' roll band Raw McCartney

Raw McCartney is an eccentric band whose oddity extends well past their music. They are a self-labeled chill, psych and punk rock 'n' roll band from Indianapolis. UNC Process Series: The New Generation Project mixes African American poets and composers in a performance which took place at Kenan Music Building on Thursday, September 4th. Sopranos Louise Toppin (shown above) and Marquita Lister put together this project with intentions of representing less-known artists and traditions of African Americans.
