The Dunkin' Donuts on 1509 Franklin St. on Oct. 29, 2018. This location is in the process of getting a drive thru approved. An employee said that the store has attempted multiple times since they opened but they haven't been successful.

Franklin Street Dunkin' Donuts continues to fight for drive-thru

The Dunkin' Donuts on Franklin Street continues to work toward obtaining a drive-thru permit. Town members have expressed concerns about the drive-thru line interfering with traffic flow on the street, but the owner assures that the location can handle the traffic and any other requirements needed to get the permit.

Goodbye time tickets, hello prepay: the Town of Chapel Hill's Lots to Love campaign is gearing up to try and transform parking downtown and your attitude toward it. “The switch is more than just moving from the old system to these new meters. It’s all one big initiative to create positive interactions with parking,” said Ran Northam, community safety communications specialist for the town. Lots of Love launched in late April, marking the switch in how you pay for parking and introducing the Park on the Hill Kissing Contest on Instagram.

The advisory committee on transportation and parking is considering concerns from various groups on UNC’s campus, including the Employee Forum, regarding charging for nighttime parking and other potential changes under UNC’s next five-year parking plan.
