University Libraries endowment supports the Southern Historical Collection

University Libraries recently received a $2 million endowment from the William R. Kenan, Jr. Charitable Trust to support Wilson Library’s Special Collections, particularly the Southern Historical Collection. The Southern Historical Collection at Wilson Library hosts over 5,000 distinct archival collections and primary documents on topics like communities and families, business and labor, slavery and Civil Rights activism.

'We came this far': Togetherness and the "experience" after UNC's 72-69 title loss to Kansas

The 72-69 loss to Kansas in the national championship game hurt for the Tar Heels. But don’t think for a second that they’re disappointed. Hurting, sure — but not disappointed. The team accomplished incredible feats, all while the world said it couldn’t, over and over again. “It hurts for us to get this far and come up short like this, with everything we went through,” sophomore guard Caleb Love said. “But you know, the positive thing is, I wouldn’t want to go through this with anybody else.”
