Student activists from the UNC Student/Farmworker Alliance protest Wendy's  in front of  the Wendy's in the bottom of the Frank Porter Graham Student Union in on Thursday, Oct. 25, in Chapel Hill, NC. The student alliance demanded the removal of Wendy's from the campus due to the alleged injustices and human rights abuses of farmworkers through the Fair Food Program.

UNC Student-Farmworker Alliance protests Wendy's on campus

A protest march consisting of UNC students and local community members and farmworkers occurred Thursday afternoon. They were protesting the Wendy's in the Student Union because of the corporation's refusal to sign the Fair Food Program, a series of agreements designed to protect those in the farming industries.

Word on the Street: Are you voting in the midterms?

With the 2018 midterm elections fast approaching, many UNC students are eager to exercise their right to vote. Others aren't. Staff writer Lyell McMerty asked UNC students around campus, "Are you planning on voting in the midterm elections? If so, what issues concern you the most? If not, why not?"
