Police log for April 8, 2010

Somebody reported two dogs in an unattended vehicle at 2:33 p.m. Tuesday at 1414 Raleigh Road, according to Chapel Hill police reports.Someone was removing money from unsecured wallets of UNC students at about 4:53 p.m. Tuesday at 120 S. Estes Drive, according to Chapel Hill police reports.The person stole $180 from one wallet and $80 from the other, reports state.

Someone found a fake pistol in her mailbox at 7:24 p.m. Monday at 202 Nunn Lane, according to Chapel Hill police reports.Someone picked up an environmentally friendly phone that was dropped by someone else between 10:45 a.m. and 11 a.m. Sunday on Hillsborough Street, according to Chapel Hill police reports. The Sprint phone was worth $150, reports state.

A 22-year-old UNC student was arrested for misdemeanor charges of possession of .4 grams of marijuana, having an open alcoholic beverage in a vehicle and driving with a suspended license at 8:59 p.m. Sunday at the William and Ida Friday Center, according to Chapel Hill police reports.

Two men were arrested for misdemeanor indecent exposure during the weekend, according to Chapel Hill police reports. Bernard Maurice Williams, 32, of Sanford, dropped his pants in public at 2:38 a.m. Sunday at the Carolina Inn, reports state. He was released on a written promise to appear in court. Marcos Martinez-Sierra, 25, exposed himself between 2:30 a.m. and 2:34 a.m. Saturday at 128 E.

Sofie Lynn Johnson was arrested after she attempted to steal a pair of silver earrings worth $16 and a jade necklace worth $20 from Light Years, reports state.

A 38-year-old Chapel Hill woman was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon at 10:38 p.m. Tuesday after she threw a meat cleaver at someone, according to Chapel Hill police reports. Ling Fang, of 1911 Ephesus Church Road, was arrested at her home and released by the magistrate on a written promise to appear in court, reports state.

Somebody pried open a window to enter a residence and stole nearly $1,500 in items between 9:01 p.m. Saturday and 10:34 a.m. Sunday at 316 McMasters St., according to Chapel Hill police reports. Items stolen include a $340 Wii game system, a $50 jewelry box, $1,000 worth of jewelry, some of it designer, and $57 in cash, reports state.

A 24-year-old Chapel Hill man was arrested at 1:15 a.m. Saturday at Kildare’s Irish Pub for damage to property and drunk and disruptive behavior, according to Chapel Hill police reports. Matthew McClellan Morrison did $350 worth of damage to a screen and was released on a written promise to appear in court.
