Police log for Oct. 13

Someone broke into a blue Saab and stole a $1,200 Yves Saint Laurent purse or wallet and a $300 GPS unit sometime between 1:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. Sunday in a parking lot at 308 W. Rosemary St., according to Chapel Hill police reports.Someone used a blunt object to knock out a car window and steal a $160 GPS unit sometime between 11 a.m. and 3:01 p.m. Sunday at 127 Essex Drive, according to Chapel Hill police reports. The window damage was valued at $350, reports state.

Female assaulted on Pritchard Avenue

A college-aged woman was assaulted on Pritchard Avenue as she was walking home Friday morning at about 2:40 a.m., according to Chapel Hill police. The female was grabbed from behind and forced to the ground, police Capt. Leo Vereen said. The suspect fled as the victim fought back, and she sustained minor bruises and scrapes, Vereen said.

Someone was assaulted at gunpoint during an argument between neighbors at 1:52 p.m. Wednesday at 135 Johnson St., according to Chapel Hill police reports. A 44-year-old man was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon, resisting arrest and assault on a female at 11:51 p.m. Saturday at West Franklin Street and Merritt Mill Road, according to Chapel Hill police reports. Milton Earl Sutton, Jr., of 751 Trinity Court, was transported to Orange County Jail without bond.Someone stole a $150 thermometer from The Ballet School at 1603 E. Franklin St. between noon Friday and 8 a.m. Monday, Chapel Hill police reports state.

The Apple iPhone was worth $400, reports state.Someone stole a hat at 10:18 a.m. Saturday at Chapel Hill Bookstore at 119 E. Franklin St., according to Chapel Hill police reports. The Carolina football hat was worth $16, reports state.

Someone broke the window of a UNC student’s 2003 silver Toyota 4Runner between 9 p.m. Tuesday and 7:30 a.m. Wednesday while it was parked at 702 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., according to Chapel Hill police reports. The window damage was valued at $250, reports state.Someone stole from a Wilco at about 5:15 p.m. Wednesday at 1213 Martin Luther King Jr Blvd., according to Chapel Hill police reports. The person stole a total of $55 in items: three pairs of hats and gloves worth $21, five magazines worth $30, two bags of potato chips worth $2 and milk worth $2, reports state.

Someone broke into a 2004 silver Volvo parked in a lot between 11 p.m. Friday and 2 p.m. Sunday at 316 Rosemary St., according to Chapel Hill police reports. The person stole a backpack worth $60, a $50 calculator and $700 worth of textbooks. The person also did $200 worth of damage to the car, reports state.Someone broke into a 2001 burgundy PT Cruiser between 9:27 a.m. Sunday and 2:17 a.m. Monday at 1301 Fordham Boulevard, according to Chapel Hill police reports. The person stole a GPS worth $250 and did $200 worth of damage to the car.

Someone committed an armed robbery at 10:37 p.m. Saturday at 504 Palafox Dr., according to Chapel Hill police reports. The suspect confronted a woman with a knife and stole her purse. The bag contained two check cards, three credit cards, one set of house keys, a driver’s license, one Coach wallet and $1,000 in cash, reports state. The total value of the stolen property was $1,570.05, reports state.

Franklin St., according to Chapel Hill police reports. Simon Kennie Alston of Pittsboro worked with the victim at Swift Taxis, reports state. Alston was released on a $500 bond until his trial date Tuesday, reports state.
