UNC Greeks see new leader in Aaron Bachenheimer

Aaron Bachenheimer wants to emphasize a full college experience to the Greek system’s newest members from the very start. A stronger orientation is one part of the new director of the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life’s vision for the system. Bachenheimer, who was named director of the office at the end of September, said he has two goals he hopes to achieve in his new position.

Steve Jobs's loss mourned at UNC

Fred Brooks met Steve Jobs at the White House in 1985. Brooks, now a computer science professor at UNC, was there to receive the National Medal of Technology for his work at IBM, while Jobs was receiving the same prize for his work at Apple.

Two UNC students finalists for People Magazine’s hero award

Two UNC students have emerged ahead of a year’s worth of fellow “heroes” to be named finalists for People Magazine’s annual Readers’ Choice Hero award. Krissi Fajgenbaum, a freshman, and Gabriel Whaley, a senior, both founded nonprofit organizations that caught the magazine’s attention.
