UNC women's soccer looks to carry win streak into matchup against No. 4 Florida State

The reigning national champion Seminoles currently sit one game ahead of UNC in the ACC standings with a 6-1 conference record. The Tar Heels will play in arguably their most consequential match of the season when they hit the road to play No. 4 Florida State on Thursday night. Despite being tested with several season-ending injuries, UNC’s back line has remained solid throughout ACC play. If the Tar Heels can pull off a win, the team will be in a solid position to clinch its fourth regular season conference title in five seasons.

Early second-half goal sparks UNC women's soccer to 2-0 win over N.C. State

Fresh off a four-goal performance against Pittsburgh on Thursday, UNC's offensive persistence carried forward into its Sunday afternoon match against North Carolina State.  After a first touch, junior midfielder Avery Patterson delivered a bottom-corner strike to give North Carolina a 2-0 lead early in the second half. That scoreline held until the end of the game, ultimately becoming the final score of the Tar Heels' 400th home victory in program history.
