IAAR-SLATE holds first research symposium for undergraduates

The event hosted ten undergraduate students who have conducted research on race, racism and racial equity. “I hope it opens up new questions that audience members might ask, new resources that they have to answer those questions," Faculty Director for Research for IAAR-SLATE Reneé Alexander Craft said. "I'm hoping that it deepens and enriches the dialogue that we have about race, racism and racial equity on UNC campus and beyond.”

Remembering 'Crouching Spider,' UNC's favorite arachnid

Crouching Spider — an art piece by the late Louise Bourgeois previously located on East Cameron Avenue — has officially left campus for its next home. The art piece was installed on campus in August 2018.  Crouching Spider was originally intended to be on display for one year, but stayed for three. The sculpture's placement on campus was arranged by the Arts Everywhere initiative Both the Crouching Spider and Eye Benches have been on display in various locations since their creation in the 1990s.
