Those who knew Laurence Lovette testify about the days following Eve Carson's murder

Shanita Love was Demario James Atwater’s live-in girlfriend in 2008 when he was charged with the shooting of former Student Body President Eve Carson. Love joined other witnesses in testifying Friday at the trial of Laurence Alvin Lovette Jr. about the days following the killing. Lovette is the second man charged in the crime, but unlike Atwater — who pleaded guilty in 2010 and is serving a life sentence — Lovette was 17 at the time and cannot receive the death penalty.

Testimony in Laurence Lovette trial provides possible details on Eve Carson killing

As the second day of testimony in the trial of one of the men accused in the 2008 shooting of former student body president Eve Carson continues, the jury is learning more details about what prosecutors say happened the night of her murder. Those details included the testimony of one woman who said she saw two men who prosecutors say match the description of the accused and his already convicted co-defendant behind her former sorority house.
