“We’re glad that we sent them home disappointed,” O’Shaughnessy said.
When asked by a fan about who the player to watch was on the UNC ice hockey team during Saturday night’s game, general manager Colin Wahl had an answer instantly: sophomore forward Patrick O’Shaughnessy.
“The expectation is how we build our team,” Banghart said. “I recruited the most competitive kids I can and they will get better at all areas of the game because of it.”
“I get to go chase my dream and I get to go do it somewhere I know,” new assistant coach Robert Kelly said. “I love the people [at UNC] and they love me.”

Senior goalkeeper Joel Hughes looked around the UNC club hockey locker room and told the college-aged players that he had seen combat before most of them were born.
On Friday, UNC traveled to Florida for the ACC Championships, where the Tar Heels took home first place both individually and as a team. This is the first time that North Carolina has won an ACC title since 1985 and the first time a single Tar Heel has taken home the gold since 1997.
“I think it’s going to be a challenge in the room to not get discouraged and kind of keep the course,” forward Henry Foster said. “Being a senior, I see a lot of good things out of this group and right now the puck is not bouncing our way and that’s hockey. Just got to stay the course and try to get some more wins coming up.”
In the spring, the North Carolina women’s tennis team only gave up the doubles point five times. For head coach Brian Kalbas, that was five times too many.
