UNC to receive updates in accordance with American Disabilities Act amendments

An update to the Americans with Disabilities Act has forced the University to make tweaks to its current offerings for the disabled. At a meeting Tuesday of the Disabilities Advisory Committee, members discussed upcoming changes to the University’s accessibility codes and accessibility map updates. But with some updates slightly cutting back from previous regulations, officials said the University is already in compliance with many of the new regulations.

Doyle plans prom for teens

“I am a prominent believer that one’s voice is the best method of change,” Miss UNC candidate Monica Doyle said. “In that sense, to be ‘the voice’ of Carolina would be the greatest honor and one that I would use to its fullest.” If selected, Doyle plans to implement a prom. It will serve teenage students who normally cannot attend regular proms due to physical or mental limitations.
