In 2021, Aranza Vazquez became one of the first two Tar Heels to compete in the Olympic games for diving. Although she considered herself strong mentally, she didn't expect the "Olympic depression" that came after the games. But with help from her coach and teammates, she has excelled in her latest college meets. “Communicating with my coach and reminding myself that I didn't have to have that pressure has been helping me," Vazquez said.
